As the weeks roll on by like tumbleweed in the wind, I become more and more aware that content is starting to dry up. This is nothing new, unfortunately, as this time last year, I went on a three-month hiatus. Now isn’t then, thankfully, so I thought I would ease your wandering minds and give you all a quick update on the situation.
Firstly, I would just like to say that Rona’ most certainly didn’t get me. I am fit – medically, not physically – and well. I actually started university – a thing that I never thought I would do. I started back in September, have wracked up some brag-worthy grades and neglected my website as a result. The amount of time I have had to dedicate to studies is rather substantial, so I’ve had to cut back on content to make up for it. I’ve clearly cut back too much content, but that’s part of the reason I am writing this. Ideally absorbing the knowledge of the ancients wouldn’t have come at the expense of content, but here we are. December is even more spiced as it’s a mad dash to the end of the semester and I have a bunch of essays to finalise before Christmas.
Speaking of the festive season, are you aware that Santa is coming soon? I live in a state of constant awareness. I have two kids and it is the stuff of nightmares. Admittedly one of them is too old for most of this nonsense, and is barely holding onto whatever magic is left for the sake of his younger brother – but he’s still a pain. The bugger doesn’t believe in the fat man anymore, but I still have to fork out the cash? What a rip off. Then we have the little one. This little devil is so obsessed with the contents of his personalised advent calendar, the decorations on the tree and the general concept of Christmas, that it has become impossible to escape its ever-looming shadow. The bugger has just gained enough sentience to comprehend the holiday, but is still in a semi-potato state, making it a pain in the arse to write a list to Santa, aka, me. Heck, maybe I just suck at the job.
The wonderful people who have been following along for the last 24 months may be aware that I am somewhat insane. I have written about my particular blend of madness a couple times in the past. My crazy was the reason for the last hiatus, so I thought I would address it here. I’m fine. I have achieved a state of zen and the universe now bends to my will. Clearly, I have transcended into some sort of incandescent deity and we should all rejoice.
I think that’s about it really. I’m thinking about writing more features to get the creative juices flowing and to have a teeny break from reviewing every now and then, but other than that – business as usual. That’s a lie, sorry. Business is changing. For the better, ideally. I am going to try and get 1-2 articles out every week, probably on a Monday and a Wednesday. I’m sure that will be sustainable…right?
