Wargroove: Double Trouble Is Out!

When I was a wee bairn, I was handed my first of many Gameboy Advances. To coincide with that monumental moment in my early childhood, my father had also given me Advance Wars – a game that changed life. I loved board games, especially Tabletop Wargames like Warhammer, so the idea of Advance Wars blew my tiny mind. I won’t beat around the bush – I sucked. I really sucked. I never finished it, or any of the sequels for that matter. But I loved it all the same. When the series died out, it left a hole in my heart that I thought would never heal – and then it did. Wargroove blazed onto the scene with promises of Advance Wars, with better art, a fantasy theme and a full suite of map/campaign creation tools. The world suddenly got brighter.

I unfortunately never got time to review Wargroove, although that may change at some point, but it was a fantastic blend of mind bending puzzles, deeply engrossing combat and tactics. It packed a lengthy campaign with a malleable difficulty, as well as a bunch of other modes to sink your ravenous teeth into. But the developers were not content with the content on offer. They wanted to give us more. Almost 12 months after the initial release of Wargroove, they have dropped a FREE expansion: Double Trouble. Let’s have a gander at what it brings to the table.

Lead the outlaw faction to victory in an all-new, free content update – Wargroove: Double Trouble!

Team up with a friend, or go it alone!

This big, new expansion is designed with co-op play in mind, so grab a fellow ruffian and jump in! Take command of the battlefield with online co-op, couch co-op or even solo.

New Commanders are coming to Wargroove

Meet 3 new roguish Commanders, each with unique ‘groove’ abilities – the mighty Wulfar, troublemaker twins Errol and Orla, as well as the maleficent Vesper.

Brand New Co-Op Story Campaign

Meet the mischievous Outlaw faction! After an unexpected kidnapping and some severe ransom demands, your group of rogues have no choice but to perform the biggest heist that Aurania has ever seen…

Thieves and Riflemen Join the Fray

It won’t be easy, but at least you’ll have two new units at your command – Thieves and Riflemen! Take tactical advantage of these new recruits, sending forth your Thief to ransack enemy gold and carefully positioning your Rifleman to take out enemy troops.

As you can see, this is quite the hefty update, well worth checking out! Speaking of which, I think I have a few heists I need to pull off…in the meantime, check out the trailer.
