Review scores are in a bit of a strange place right now. They have been a staple in video game reviewing since the industries inception, making them pretty engrained in what people think a review should be. Today I take a look at said review scores, why they are, in their current state, not doing their job effectively, and what can be done to improve our current system.
In addition, this episode also covers the complex issue of whether or not Game Journalists need to complete games in order to be qualified to review them. This is another touchy subject that has many factors that play into an answer that isn’t always clear. Makes for an interesting talking point at least!
Let me know in the comments below what your thoughts on the issue are. If you want your comments read on my next podcast, then feel free to ask me a question and I will get around to answering it.
