Any gamer worth their salt has heard of the wonderful Golden Age of gaming brought on be veteran UK-based developer Rare in the 90’s. Still alive and kicking, although no longer with Nintendo, Rare turns 35 this week.
Rare brought us absolute gems such as Banjo-Kazooie (and its equally fantastic sequel), Perfect Dark, Killer Instinct, Donkey Kong Country and the unabashedly hilarious, adults-only, Conker’s Bad Fur Day.
To celebrate the momentous occasion, they have released a bunch of new merchandise on their online store. What’s more, everything is 35% until Sunday (which is tomorrow…). You can nab some killer soundtracks as well as appreciate some wonderful artwork (as seen below).
Now is most certainly the time to pop a cork out of some champagne, boot up your Switch and blaze a trail through Donkey Kong Country on the Switch Online SNES service (unfortunately the only Rare game available on the platform).
What’s your favourite Rare game? Personally, mine has got to be Banjo. You can’t go wrong with Banjo (willfully ignores Nuts and Bolts…)
